Screen Shots
ConnectionThe first window from start up is a happy banana.
This will not appear if the client is running in quiet mode. The client will merely be informed of a time out, and any action they want to take from there. This takes the form of the connection timed out dialog.
If connection occurs, but is refused by the server.
If at some point the user quits, the sad banana shows up.

Logging InAfter connection, the previous window disappears (if it was there), and the login window pops up.
This too can be bypassed by using a device login method (i.e. magnetic card, smart card, retinal scan). On login error, the following dialog appears.

TransactionsDepending upon the login/password combination, one of several windows can pop up, depending upon the user privileges, the machine privileges, status, and preferences. Almost all normal functionality is now handled in screen:
The following screen show the client with the smart bar switched on. This allows limited touchscreen functionality (it can be positioned top or bottom).
For more complete touchscreen support, the keypad can be enabled.
Some countries also demand currency round units, and as such a (R) appears in the Total to indicate rounding to nearest set round unit (another screen isn't required to get the idea). Rounding can be up/down/nearest, generally it's cumulative down rounded.
Unknown PLUs appear in red, allowing description/price entry (depending on policy), to allow all other stations to use this information until the database is updated (if the PLU and Play option is set). Likewise PLU looklups appear in blue, and disappear on the next scan. Flagged items (warning, acknowledge) flash. Returns items in sale (as opposed to a dedicated returns mode transaction) appear in green.
Customers need to be selected for rentals, deliveries, and laybys (lay aways), and in-house charge accounts.
Not being found.
Mutilple customers (or ambiguous entry in the customer selection dialog bring up a selectable list.
Adding a customer.
A delivery sale is indicated in the title, there is no payment commit until delivery returns.
Delivery "To-Go" lists deliveries that are ready, delivery return list deliveries that are "in transit", from there select and add payments, commit transaction. These are all similar. When there are no outstanding deliveries.
If there are, you are prompted for who is delivering the items.
Users can request thing (sends message to server to which forwards to the real time monitor):
Unknown PLUs that require a tax rate, can select it from a list downloaded from the server:
Cancelling transactions is a one time press (with confirmation if the system is set up for this).
To get from passive mode to quit, is not the same as quitting back to a login screen, so it has a different dialog.

A-B Transaction Swap OptionAs imagined A-B transaction swap - swaps between two concurrent transactions, or a blank and an open one.
|
Item ReturnsSame as sales screen, but commit returns items to stock, and generates a returns transaction.
